The EMERALD-Lewy team was delighted to see Lewy body dementia featured in a dedicated live segment on Ireland AM, bringing this important condition to a national television audience. The discussion provided a valuable platform to raise awareness of Lewy body dementia, its impact on individuals and families, and the urgent need for continued research, improved diagnosis, and better support services.
The segment showcased both professional expertise and lived experience, helping to present a well-rounded perspective on the condition. We extend our sincere thanks to Iracema Leroi for sharing her specialist insight into Lewy body dementia, including current challenges in diagnosis and care as well as ongoing efforts within research to improve outcomes for those affected.
We are also very grateful to Eben Stewart, who contributed a powerful personal perspective as EMERALD’s Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) Chair.
