EMERALD-Lewy Team at the Irish Gerontological Society Conference in Killarney

Members of the EMERALD-Lewy team recently took part in the Irish Gerontological Society Conference, held from 2nd–4th October at the Great Southern Hotel Killarney. The conference brought together researchers, clinicians, and experts in ageing to share the latest developments in research, policy, and practice.

The EMERALD-Lewy team contributed actively throughout the event, presenting both oral talks and poster presentations showcasing their ongoing work in the field of Lewy body dementia. These presentations provided an opportunity to highlight emerging findings, discuss methodological approaches, and engage in meaningful discussions with peers working across dementia and ageing research.

The sessions generated strong interest and valuable feedback, reflecting the growing recognition of the importance of research focused on Lewy body dementia and related neurodegenerative conditions. Engaging with colleagues at the conference also helped strengthen collaborations and foster new connections within the wider research community.

Overall, the event was a highly productive and rewarding experience for the team. It reinforced the value of in-person scientific exchange and multidisciplinary collaboration in advancing understanding of dementia and improving outcomes for people living with these conditions and their families.
